Creating Your Account
New-account activation is app-owned and pay-first. An ordinary browser cannot start account signup or paid activation.
Activate a new account
Section titled “Activate a new account”- Choose a recurring Artist or Pro plan on the public Plans page and complete Stripe Checkout.
- Install and open The Library desktop app.
- In the app, choose Activate subscription and import the activation reference from Checkout (or paste the activation code when offered).
- The app opens your browser with an app-initiated callback. Choose email/password or Google there.
- After the paid claim is attached to that identity, the browser returns the authenticated session to the installed app.
Signup is allowed only in this app-initiated callback with a valid paid activation reference. Do not open a separate browser signup tab: a fresh browser cannot recover or claim the subscription.
Sign in to an existing account
Section titled “Sign in to an existing account”Start sign-in from the desktop app. Phone-width browsers may initiate existing-account sign-in, but they still cannot create or activate a new account. Desktop-width ordinary browsers show guidance to open or install the app.
If activation does not return to the app
Section titled “If activation does not return to the app”Keep the original browser tab open and use its Open The Library fallback. You can also return to the app and paste the activation code. Never share an activation code or callback URL; it is a one-time bearer reference.
After handoff, licence, legal, billing-health, and onboarding checks continue inside the installed app.
