Creating Share Links

Share links deliver a configured selection of tracks and files through an opaque URL. The stored selection, permitted file types, optional password/expiry settings, and the owner’s Dropbox connection control what the recipient can receive.

Before You Start: Connect Dropbox

Share links require a Dropbox connection. All files served through share links are delivered via Dropbox temporary links, so your Dropbox account must be linked and active.

If you haven’t connected Dropbox yet, you’ll see a prompt when you try to create a share link. Head to Settings → Integrations and click Connect Dropbox. Once connected, you can create share links right away.

Select Your Track

Open the track you want to share from your production grid. In the Share tab, you’ll see your files organized into categories:

  • Bounces — final mixes and masters
  • Projects — DAW session files
  • Stems — isolated instrument and vocal tracks

Click the checkbox next to each file you want to include. You can mix files from different categories — for example, selecting a bounce alongside its stems.

Choose the tracks and files that should be included in the share. For playlist shares, the service supports a large current-view selection up to its documented safety ceiling; do not treat a 50-track limit as a product rule.

Once you’ve selected your files, click the Create Share Link button at the bottom of the panel. The system generates a unique URL that you can copy and send to anyone.

The share link is ready immediately. There’s no upload step — your files are pulled directly from your connected Dropbox account when recipients access the link.

Configuring Share Options

Before creating your link, configure its supported behavior:

Setting an Expiration Date

Set an expiration when the delivery should end, or leave it unset for a never-expiring link.

Expired links return a “This link has expired” message to anyone who tries to access them. The files remain safe in your Dropbox.

Enabling Downloads

Downloads are available only when the owner has enabled them for the share. Keep them disabled for any content that should remain preview-only.

To let people download files:

  1. In the share panel, toggle on Allow Downloads
  2. Choose which file types are available:
    • Bounces — WAV, MP3, FLAC, AIFF
    • Projects — DAW sessions (Ableton, Logic, Pro Tools, etc.)
    • Stems — individual track stems

Recipients will see a download button for each file type you’ve enabled.

Excluding Specific Files

Choose the files that belong in the share. The public endpoint validates requests against that stored selection; unselected files are not available through the link.

Sharing Individual Tracks vs. Track Groups

Single Track

When you open a single track and create a share link, only that track’s selected files are included. The share page shows one row with the track name, artwork, and available downloads.

Track Groups

For a track group, include only the specific tracks and files you intend to deliver. Do not assume a link exposes every current file in the group.

What Recipients See

When someone opens your share link, they land on a clean, public-facing page showing:

  • Track name and artwork — pulled from your track metadata
  • Track details — BPM, key, waveform preview
  • Collaborator names — shown if collaborators have accepted invites on the track group
  • Download buttons — if you’ve enabled downloads for that file type
  • Download count — an endpoint counter for successful downloads

Recipients do not need a Library account to request public share data. Anyone with a valid, unexpired token can use the link, so send it only to intended recipients and create a replacement if it is exposed.

Troubleshooting

“Dropbox connection required to create share links”

Your Dropbox account isn’t connected or the connection has expired. Go to Settings → Integrations and reconnect Dropbox.

“Dropbox connection expired”

Your Dropbox token needs refreshing. Reconnect Dropbox in Settings — your existing files and shares remain intact.

Link shows “This share has expired”

The link has passed its expiration date. Create a new share link if you still need to share those files.

Files aren’t appearing on the share page

Check that the files are stored in your Dropbox and that the paths are correct. If a file was moved or renamed in Dropbox, update the track metadata in The Library.

Tips

Section titled “Tips”

  • Use share links for deliverables — They’re ideal for sending final mixes, stems, and project files to artists or labels without granting full Dropbox folder access.

  • Enable downloads selectively — Turn on bounces for a master but leave project files disabled unless specifically requested.

  • Set expiry deliberately — choose an expiry for time-bound delivery or leave it unset for a never-expiring link.

  • Keep Dropbox paths consistent — Moving files in Dropbox breaks the link. Always update track metadata if you reorganise your folders.

  • Share track groups for full projects — When sending an entire session, share the group rather than individual tracks to give recipients the complete picture.
