Setting Up Your Public Page

Your public page is your professional home on the web — a published portfolio that showcases selected work to potential clients and collaborators. Unlike token-gated share links, it has its own public URL that you can include in your bio, email signature, or social media profiles.

The renderer uses profile data and page-specific settings separately. Update profile name, bio, avatar, social links, and contact settings in their dedicated profile/settings surfaces; the public-page settings endpoint updates only display name, banner image, and accent color.

Your public page streams audio directly from your Dropbox account, so you need to have Dropbox connected before you can publish.

To connect Dropbox:

  1. Go to Settings and click on Integrations
  2. Find the Dropbox section and click Connect
  3. Follow the prompts to authorize The Library

If Dropbox isn’t connected, you’ll see a warning message in the Public Page settings area. Publishing will remain disabled until you connect your account.

Your display name becomes your public URL: thelibrary.fm/pages/your-name. Choose something memorable that reflects your brand — your artist name, producer alias, or real name all work well.

To set your display name:

  1. Go to Settings > Public Page
  2. Find the Display Name field and enter your chosen name
  3. Only lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens are allowed
  4. Click Check Availability to confirm it’s unique

Your display name must be between 3 and 50 characters. It must stay unique and use lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens.

The Public Page settings let you add visual flair to your portfolio without touching code.

The accent color appears on interactive elements like buttons, links, and the waveform player. Pick something that matches your brand or personal style.

  1. In Settings > Public Page, locate the Accent Color picker
  2. Click the color swatch or enter a hex code directly
  3. Save the page-specific setting and check the rendered result

Popular choices include warm oranges, electric blues, and vibrant purples — whatever makes your page feel like you.

A banner image sits at the top of your public page, giving visitors an immediate sense of your aesthetic.

  1. Click Upload Banner in the Public Page settings
  2. Select a JPEG, PNG, or WebP image no larger than 10 MB
  3. Confirm the upload

Use a banner that represents your work clearly in the public-page layout.

Your public page is organized into sections based on your buckets — the same projects you use to organize tracks in your library. Each bucket you add becomes a clickable section that visitors can browse.

Use the Settings > Public Page bucket selector to choose owned buckets. Its sellable-first selection flow excludes archived buckets, system buckets, and buckets with no sellable tracks. The selector can sort candidates by sellable track count or name while preserving checked state.

The saved section array determines rendering order. The renderer applies the total 10-track cap across that order.

Each bucket section can display in one of two styles:

StyleBest For
GridCompact overview — shows artwork thumbnails in a uniform grid
CardsDetailed view — larger cards with more visual impact (Musicbed style)

When using Cards view, you can also choose the card size: small, medium, or large. Larger cards show more artwork but fewer per row.

To change a section’s display style:

  1. Click the overflow menu (three dots) next to any section
  2. Select Grid or Cards
  3. If using cards, choose your preferred size

Want to give credit where it’s due? The collaborators section highlights people you’ve worked with on your public page.

Save collaborators owned by the authenticated user and choose is_featured where appropriate. The renderer uses the saved collaborator list and avatar fallback.

Before going live, use the render-only preview to inspect the saved page data and visible-track cap.

For an unpublished page, preview opens a signed, time-limited render-only draft in a new tab. It renders profile/page data and sections, but visitor playback, checkout, contact, and other actions are disabled.

Review everything carefully. Check that:

  • Your artist name and bio look correct
  • Social links point to the right profiles
  • All sections display with proper artwork
  • The 10-track visible cap produces the expected public set

Once you’re satisfied with your preview, you’re ready to go live.

Click Publish in the Public Page settings. A successful publish requires a display name, profile name, and a valid Dropbox connection. Publishing is available on Free, Starter, Pro, and resolved Lifetime plans.

Your public URL is now active. Share it anywhere:

  • Social media bios
  • Email signatures
  • Music licensing platforms
  • Business cards and press kits

If you need to take your page down temporarily, click Unpublish in the settings. Your content is preserved and you can republish anytime without reconfiguration.

  • Keep profile information current — Public-page settings return profile data separately from page-specific configuration, so review your profile before publishing.

  • Curate thoughtfully — You don’t need to feature every bucket. Pick the sections that best represent your current sound and style. A focused page is more impactful than an exhaustive one.

  • Keep Dropbox connected — If your Dropbox authorization expires, your audio playback will stop working. Periodically check that the connection remains active in Settings > Integrations.

  • Check playback prerequisites — visitor audio requires a published page, a track in the capped visible set, a bounce, and a valid Dropbox connection.
